The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of frozen Russia's assets to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the US.

British penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had solely been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward using the total worth of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He noted that more measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement follows European Union officials met in the Danish capital previously to discuss utilizing frozen Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or employ frozen Russia's holdings, based on media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's funds in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government carried out widespread bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on recently, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.
