Parker weighed approximately twenty pounds more than Fabio Wardley as the two heavyweights cut self-assured appearances - even if in different manners - ahead of the Saturday main event in the capital.

From New Zealand Joseph Parker will put his WBO interim championship and shot to challenge for the global championship on the line versus the perfect Fabio Wardley at the premier boxing arena.

Reigning heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has signalled his aim to defend his world titles facing the victor.

"This is it. This means the ultimate," said a focused but concentrated Wardley, aged 30, at yesterday's weigh-in.

The British contender - the holder of the WBA interim strap - came in at 17st 5lb, matching his latest fights.

"This fight leading up to the one. All preparation is done. Camp is completed. The intense training is accomplished. Now for some rest now. Major event ahead," he added.

The East London market in London's east end saw more than fresh produce on the measure as the pair of boxers squared up for the last occasion prior to the main event.

Joseph Parker winked at the camera and moved along to the music.

As he flexed his strength, he appeared imposing and powerful as he tipped the scales at 119 kg, merely a handful of pounds less than his career-heaviest.

This represents a major change from the sixteen stone twelve pound iteration who was defeated his belt to AJ in 2018.

"We are alert, we are wary, but I will to respond with equal force and I'm going to get him," Parker said.

I have reached a superior tier and will overpower him - Joseph Parker

Wardley, dressed in an Ipswich Town jersey, maintained a serious expression, greeted the crowd, but appeared focused.

He may be the smaller man, Fabio Wardley has superb stopping ability. He staged a dramatic recovery facing Huni in the summer, behind on the official tallies then finishing his opponent in the final round even though being outmaneuvered for most of the fight.

"Joseph Parker, his corner and supporters are about to discover I belong to be at the summit of this division," Fabio Wardley stated.

"Every opponent has been the fighter critics say will defeat me. This is that fight. He is exceptional pace, too fast, too experienced. But My record is perfect to date, and no one will change in the ring."
