I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
