In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech I doubt I can make the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a gulf air that leaves at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the dates, events, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from the UK for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his show earlier this year, he stated: "We plan to release the series, the multi-part documentary, next year - early next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in 2018.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit issue this day with Farage, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the struggling British leader at the time, he continued: "The guys are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as much as you can uk. Ideal- so others get the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was finally toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party informed media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was renewed this week after the release of over 20,000 documents from his estate.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was initially charged.
